The US world cup team leave for South Africa on Sunday,and it recieved a warm white house send-off Tuesday from President Obama,formaer President Bill Clinton and vice president Joe Biden.
” I judt want to say how incredibly proud we are of the team,” Obama said.
” Everybody’s going to be rooting for you.And although sometimes we don’t remember it here in the United States,this is going to be the biggest world stage there is.And you’re going to be representing all of us”.
The two presidents were particularly fond of the soccer players’ light brown loafers.
” I’ve never seen a team with cool shoes like that”, Clinton said.
“This is the best dressed soccer team I’ve ever seen,” Obama said.”Those are some sharp shoes”.
Biden,who gave the team a white house tour,will attend the US opener against England on June 12 in Rustenburg……….
