Though there is a wide array of protective footwear in the market under different brand names and styles and with state of the art technology ,there is still a disinclination toward wearing these shoes by many due to some misconceptions associated with safety shoes. But,misconceptions do not normally happen without some segment of truth in them.

Some believe that these shoes have rigid parts in them and do not make them feel comfortable in them. Also they imagine that rigid parts in the shoe press against the foot that make walking difficult and painful. Some protective shoes are of odd shape and ugly is another grouse frequently raised by  many people.

Some even comment that wearing protective shoes give them the feeling as  if walking in steel shoes.True, as the name would suggest ,those shoes with steel sole layers  will feel more stiffer than wearing typical trainers, but   flexibility is compromised to some extent for advancing more protection.

The major purpose of wearing safety footwear is to keep your feet from harm.Yet,there are protective footwear that support mobility with comfort. Many of them are made with a layer of  cushion for comfort.Shoemakers  have developed the art of making shoes with lightweight  materials while shoe designers have made them look more handsome  and comfortable as well. Also, shoes with steel or aluminum reinforcements are usually lined with insulatory materials so that they won’t  get affected by the vagaries of weather such as heat or cold.

Steel toe protection has been associated with the absurd fallacy that its steel reinforcements can cave in to injure the toes. Similarly as found  in  some  footwear, with protection being provided not for all toes but for the big toe and the one after  may still be good thing because  it is these toes  that usually  get  injured.

You may have worn the shoes with wrong fit  or of poor quality ,that walking in them might have been an ordeal.Foot injuries are likely to happen in the most unexpected situations. However with right protective shoes  the safety of  your soles, heels, ankles and toes  are well assured.
